Leading commercial law firm Hill Dickinson has announced the appointment of Chris Williams, who joins the firm’s London City office as a partner in its commercial dispute resolutions team.
A highly regarded commercial litigator, Chris has a particular focus on technology-related disputes and intellectual property, including patents, copyright, trademarks and confidential information. He brings almost a decade of partner-level experience to the firm, joining from Clyde & Co’s London office.
He is a key adviser to organisations across a range of sectors, including marine, natural resources and energy, with a client base ranging from multi-nationals to owner-managed businesses. He regularly advises clients on the development, exploitation and enforcement of intellectual property rights and is experienced in running complex litigation and arbitration proceedings across multiple jurisdictions.
Chris is also highly active in the burgeoning artificial intelligence (AI) space, with a strong emphasis on intellectual property considerations and the emerging regulatory landscape.
Chris’ appointment further underlines Hill Dickinson’s continued investment in its London City office, enhancing its national and international capability. The firm recently appointed Joz Coetzer and Marc Naidoo as co-leads for its international finance team in London.
It also follows another strong year for the office, which added seven senior appointments in 2025 and contributed significantly to Hill Dickinson achieving an eighth consecutive year of growth.
Chris is a great addition to the firm, bringing deep expertise in intellectual property, technology and international disputes at a time when these areas are increasingly critical to our clients. His strong reputation in the market will only enhance our dispute resolution team and our wider business services group after such a strong year in 2025. It reflects our continued focus on building a market-leading team across the UK and internationally.Fiona Parry

From my very first conversations with the firm, it was clear that the firm is home to a culture that is both ambitious but down-to-earth, and I am excited to contribute to that. I look forward to continuing to being a trusted advisor to clients on all of their commercial litigation matters, while working alongside some of the most progressive-thinking lawyers in the UK.”
