We're pleased to announce the appointment of Paul Scope as a Partner in our Newcastle office, launching a dedicated employment law offering in the North East as part of our continued investment in Hill Dickinson's regional footprint.
Paul brings over 25 years’ experience to the firm. An award-winning and highly regarded specialist, he has experience advising private, public and third-sector organisations, as well as senior individuals, on the full spectrum of employment matters.
He works with employers across a broad range of sectors, including manufacturing, professional and elite sport, professional services, technology and media, recruitment, education and the wider public sector. His expertise spans workforce restructuring, TUPE transfers, collective redundancies, trade union relations and industrial action, as well as complex and large-scale litigation.
Paul's arrival reflects our continued investment in our North East office, which has grown steadily since its launch in 2022. Originally established with a seven-strong Health and Social Care team, the office has since added Marine, Private Client and Corporate teams. Now with over 20 people, the introduction of an Employment team further reinforces the office’s position as an increasingly significant full-service hub aligned with the firm’s wider national growth ambitions.
Paul’s appointment builds on the existing expertise and network within our Employment team across the regions, ensuring our clients can access our specialist advice wherever they need us. Expanding our Business Services Group further in Newcastle strengthens our ability to provide high-quality, commercially focused employment support locally while connecting clients to the full depth of our national team. Working alongside Tom Pollard and our Corporate and Private Client teams, I’m looking forward to seeing Paul further grow our offer as we continue to build on the range of services we provide in Newcastle.Fiona Parry
