Aoife Ryan

Aoife is a Legal Director who has gained significant experience on behalf of both defence and prosecution in all aspects of regulatory enforcement. She is also a qualified solicitor advocate.

Upon qualification, Aoife joined a leading criminal practice in Manchester where she worked for almost 10 years and qualified as a duty solicitor providing advice and representation at the police station and Courts in respect of a range of offences including murder, fraud, sexual offences, firearms, robbery, serious drugs conspiracies and resultant confiscation proceedings. She regularly appeared before the Crown Court as solicitor advocate.

Prior to joining the firm Aoife spent six years as litigation solicitor within the corporate and regulatory team of a North West local authority where she was responsible for prosecuting a range of regulatory enforcement matters including: fraud, money laundering, trading standards offences, food safety, product safety, noise nuisance, fly tipping, planning breaches and consequent confiscation and restraint proceedings under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002.

In addition, Aoife was legal adviser to the Council’s Licensing Committees and also undertook a range of licensing enforcement work before the Courts.

Aoife advises on a wide range of regulatory matters ranging from Investigations and proceeding involving:

  • Local Authorities and other regulatory enforcement agencies

Aoife also provides advice to business who are seeking to minimise their risk in respect of matters concerning Anti-Money Laundering, Anti- Bribery and other financial compliance issues.

Aoife is adept at helping client’s find practical solutions to complex regulatory problems however they arise. Drawing upon her wealth of experience Aoife can advise at every stage of regulatory investigation from initial intervention, PACE interview, defence investigation and court proceedings.
