Details

Colin acts for a wide cross section of clients in the shipping sector ranging from P&I clubs, cargo interests and owners to freight forwarders, shipping lines and major ports and terminals. Colin advises on matters ranging from dispute resolution to a broad variety of commercial shipping issues.

Colin’s extensive experience covers both contentious and commercial matters. These include major recovery actions for unpaid shipping and bunker claims on behalf of shipping lines and agents arising from sudden insolvency of significant customers, vessel arrests, advising lenders on recovery and sale of vessels under security documentation, bill of lading disputes, public inquests following fatality, jurisdictional issues and indemnity and contribution proceedings. Colin also advises on ship sale and purchase, terminal and port operations, European Economic Interest Grouping (EEIGs) and preparing and reviewing standard terms and conditions.

Colin joined the firm in 2002 after qualifying at a specialist niche firm having previously completed the common professional examination and LPC at the College of Law in Chester. Colin is a full time member of Liverpool Law Society.
