Dan Taylor

Dan is an associate in our Commercial Litigation team in Manchester.

Having joined the firm as a paralegal in 2019, Dan qualified into the commercial litigation team in August 2022 after doing seats in corporate and property litigation throught his period of training with Hill Dickinson.

Dan assists the team with a wide range of matters covering a number of sectors. His experience so far includes helping clients negotiate company law disputes, as well as assisting them to resolve commercial and contractual issues. Dan has also worked on restrictive covenant disputes, both for companies seeking to protect their confidential information and for defendants to such claims. Dan’s wider experience covers defamation and reputation protection matters, disputes in the healthcare sector, professional negligence claims, and in settling claims through alternative dispute resolution.

Dan graduated with a degree in Law at the University of Leicester, before spending a year working as a paralegal and then moving to Manchester to complete the Legal Practice Course alongside a Masters in Law and Business, achieving a distinction overall.

Experience
Appearing in a Judicial Review in the High Court regarding a decision of the Payment Systems Regulator.
Successfully settling a claim against a company, where a competitor sought to obtain injunctive relief against it after hiring a former employee.
Acting for a large high street retailer to defend a claim for breach of contract by a former contractor, successfully settling the claim following mediation between the parties.
Representing the minority shareholders of a plc in a series of disputes surrounding the company.
Advising corporate clients after takeovers on possible breaches of SPAs and warranty claims against sellers.
Instructed by a public sector client to defend a multi-million pound claim by a nationwide retailer for breach of contractual obligations.
