Dimitra Damaskopoulou

Dimitra is an Associate of the commodities team. She has experience in advising clients in contentious marine and trade disputes.

Details

Before joining the firm, Dimitra trained at a leading international shipping firm where she obtained experience in a wide range of contentious matters.

Dimitra has worked on a variety of disputes arising from damage or loss to cargo during domestic and international carriage by sea and road. She has also represented major national and international insurers in matters concerning vessel collisions and warehousing. The majority of her work was focused on the application of the Convention on the Contract for the International Carriage of Goods by Road (‘CMR’), Carriage of Goods by Sea (“COGSA”) and the Hague-Visby Rules.

Since joining the Commodities team, Dimitra has been involved in a number of High Court cases and arbitrations subject to LCIA and LMAA terms on charterparty and commodity trade disputes advising traders, insurers, charterers and energy companies.

Dimitra obtained an undergraduate Law degree from the University of Manchester.
