Donal has 12 years’ sea-going experience, followed by shore-side employment in ship management; ship broking and university lecturing. During the 10+ years since first joining a law firm, he has gained broad experience across many facets of maritime law and dispute resolution.
Donal frequently advises clients on a wide variety of both ‘wet’ and ‘dry’ issues arising out of marine casualties, as well as general contractual disputes. An associate of the Association of Average Adjusters, he also advises clients on issues related to contracts of marine insurance.
With some 15 years’ experience of casualty and crisis management, Donal has honed key skills necessary to provide clients with a safe pair of hands on-scene, or remotely, following a marine casualty. He also has experience in investigating casualty causation, providing clear and succinct advice on liability.
