Edward Liu named in China Business Law Journal’s 2022 Rising Star list

Hill Dickinson is pleased to announce that Edward Liu, partner based in the firm’s Hong Kong office, has been named in China Business Law Journal’s (CBLJ) Rising Stars list for 2022.

The list identifies 20 prominent up-and-coming foreign firm lawyers for China-related business.

Rising Stars is based on extensive research and feedback conducted by China Business Law Journal, which is gathered from thousands of in-house counsel in China and around the world as well as partners at Chinese law firms and international law firms. The final list reflects the nominations received combined with CBLJ’s extensive experience in documenting and analysing China’s legal market.

Qualified as a solicitor of Hong Kong SAR, England and Wales, as well as a lawyer of P.R. China and appointed to the partnership in 2021, Edward’s main area of practice is in commercial and shipping litigation and arbitration. He is particularly renowned for his work in the commercial arbitration field as well as arbitration-related court applications. Edward has been listed consistently and for many years as a leading lawyer in shipping and dispute resolution by The Legal 500, Chambers & Partners, and Lloyd’s List.

Edward’s inclusion in the Rising Stars list adds to his recent appointment to the new panel of arbitrator of Shenzhen International Arbitration Court. He has also been appointed by Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) as a member of its Professional Services Advisory Committee, the members of which are comprised of top lawyers, doctors, accountants, surveyors, civil engineers etc, to advise HKTDC on formulating promotional strategies and programme for the professional services sector.
