Details

After qualifying with a well-known international firm, Ed practised in their London and Hong Kong offices. After spending three years in industry (hotels, retail and gaming), Edwin returned to private practice in the City of London.

Ed’s fields of interest include disputes involving engineering, shipbuilding and construction, and banking and finance (including complex derivatives), financial services, company law and insolvency.

Ed has a degree in law from the University of Leeds and is a Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR) accredited mediator.

    • Advised entrepreneur on settlement of complex multi-jurisdictional dispute through the medium of a company voluntary arrangement
    • Represented owners in shipbuilding disputes under London Maritime Arbitration Association (LMAA) rules
    • Acted for claimant in High Court claim relating to forward freight agreements (FFAs)
    • Represented owners in claim against bank under refund guarantees issued in connection with shipbuilding contracts
    • Acted for contractors in ICC arbitrations concerning contracts for the design and construction of power stations, process plants and rolling stock
    • Advised provincial bank in dispute with investment bank about the sale and operation of a collateralised debt obligation (CDO)
