Elizabeth is a legal director in our Restructuring team and specialises in non-contentious aspects of turnaround, restructuring and corporate insolvency with a particular expertise in board advisory work and transactional matters.

Prior to joining the firm, Elizabeth was at a leading law firm. She acts for a variety of stakeholders in turnaround and restructuring situations, including directors, corporate clients, private equity investors, lenders and office holders.

Elizabeth focuses on corporate restructuring, turnaround and directors’ duties and distressed business sales together with all aspects of formal and informal insolvency procedures including CVAs, restructuring plans, administration and receivership.

Experience
Advised an energy broking business on one of the first mid-market Pt26A restructuring plans in the UK, in an innovative use of the new restructuring tool in that market taking the matter through to a sanction hearing at the High Court.
Advised Tesco on its acquisition of the brand and intellectual property of Paperchase.
Advised the administrators of the UK’s leading music distributor including advice in connection with the sale of the business and assets securing the jobs of all 400 employees.
Advised a newly incorporated SPV in relation to the acquisition of the business and assets of a technology business via a credit bid pre-pack and new investment into the SPV.
Advised a landlord across multiple creditor classes in connection with one of the first Pt26A restructuring plans including advice in connection with process, effect and voting mechanics and attendance at the convening hearing.
Advised the CVA supervisors in relation to a landlord challenge and subsequent settlement agreement allowing the CVA to proceed challenge free.
Advised the nominees/ supervisors in connection with the seven interconnected group CVAs of a major UK based retailer and in respect of the administration and subsequent Chapter 15 recognition in respect of the US subsidiary.
Advised the board of directors of a hospitality and retail client in connection with CVA feasibility and options analysis including the appointment of administrators of a trading subsidiary.
Advised an international casual dining client in relation to a complex solution to address underperforming franchisees in the UK which involved solvent and insolvent transactions.
Advised the board of directors and subsequently appointed administrators of Poundworld including advice in connection with disposal of the leasehold portfolio of over 350 stores.
