Gerald has 27 years of local and offshore experience and practices in the fields of Disputes Resolution especially arbitration, in Shipping and Admiralty, Trade & Commodities, Insurance and Energy, Oil & Gas. His geographical focus is on North Asia (China, Taiwan), South Asia (India, Sri Lanka) and South-East Asia.
He reads and speaks English, Mandarin Chinese with working proficiency in Bahasa Melayu, Cantonese and Hokkien.
Prior to joining the firm, Gerald was a partner and head of other well-established law firms.
Gerald is a litigator and advocate and was a winner of the Justice FA Chua Advocacy Prize during the Bar Exams.
His work deal with marine and non-marine insurers, commodity houses and traders, carriers, NVOCCs and forwarders, Ship Managers and Recoveries.
On the transaction side, Gerald does ship sale & purchase and contracts for clients.
Gerald completed his law degree at the National University of Singapore with honours.

- Drafted a standard form Logistics and Warehousing Agreement for a leading worldwide provider of freight transportation and related logistics services, including air and ocean freight forwarding, project cargo, for adoption and use with their vendors.
- Drafting employment contract for adoption and use by a Petrochemical brokerage and trading company.
- Advising on Singapore Company Law and regulations for Formosa International, a Taiwanese law firm representing corporate clients proposing to list on the SGX.
- Carrying out the sale and purchase and undertaking the acquisition of 3 vessels for a local ship owning company.
- Drafting, vetting and negotiating terms of a turnkey repair and conversion contract for a listed ship building and repair company.
- Drafting a Memorandum of Agreement for the sale and purchase of a CPP Tanker on behalf of the purchasers, a Malaysian listed ship owning company.
