About me

Having practised for over 30 years, I’m a shipping lawyer who works with ship owners, charterers, cargo interests, salvors, ports, pilots and insurers. I focus primarily on admiralty, casualty and technical dry shipping litigation, while I also advise on shipping policy and procedure.

I work with clients to understand the specifics of the case and the desired outcome, then offer the insight they need to make informed decisions. I always keep the line of communication open, so whatever happens, the client can adapt to changing circumstances.

My technical expertise is second to none. I’m a master mariner, a junior engineer and I’ve served in deck and engineering officer roles on a wide range of vessels. This allows me to blend technical and practical experience with deep legal knowledge to deliver successful results.

I love to take on a challenge, especially when it involves high stakes circumstances such as fires, engine issues, emergency responses, cargo explosions or crane damage. Finding out how and why things happened, then working out how best to fix the issue is something I truly love about my job.

I also like to help others. I act as a mentor and I’m a board member of WISTA UK.
