Jeff Isaacs

Jeff is a senior partner and head of the Trade and Commodities team. He has over 35 years' experience in advising clients in contentious commodity and trade disputes with a particular reputation in the sugar sector.

Details

Having first trained and practised in shipping litigation with the firm for 12 years, Jeff founded the firm’s trade and commodities team in 1993 and is now its head. He has developed considerable expertise in advising trade houses in contentious disputes and in arbitration at numerous trade associations.

Jeff’s specialism is in litigation of commodities disputes and in arbitration of such disputes at numerous trade associations including The International Cotton Association, Gafta, FOSFA, The Sugar Association, The London Metal Exchange, The International General Produce Association (IGPA) and The Coffee Trade Federation. He has a particular reputation and specialism in sugar in which area, for the past 25 years, he has advised sugar traders, banks and brokers, as well as the sugar associations themselves.

Jeff was educated at Dulwich College in London and then went on to read law at Christ’s College, Cambridge.
