Luke Green

Luke is a partner in the Employment, Education and Pensions team and is the national head of Schools within the firm. His main areas of expertise are employment and education work, particularly in the schools sector.

Details

Prior to joining the firm in 2010, Luke was a solicitor with an established law firm also based in Liverpool although he has always carried out work across the United Kingdom. He has extensive experience working for a range of education and commercial clients.

Luke practises in the areas of employment and education law and is an experienced Employment Tribunal advocate, specialising in advising on complex cases involving terminations, discrimination and whistleblowing. In his education practice he advises on safeguarding, admissions, exclusions, parental issues, governance, equality issues, academy conversions, free school applications and all aspects of legal compliance for schools and academies.

Luke has two degrees: one in law and one in politics and economics. He graduated high school, university and law school winning awards for his results and performance.

    • Acted for a chief executive in negotiating his exit from his company on agreed terms
    • Acted for a single academy trust in reviewing and updating its statutory policies
    • Advised a school on a complicated investigation involving very serious safeguarding and abuse allegations
    • Advised a company on successfully defending a claim for breach of contract and a large bonus by an ex-employee
    • Acted for a number of schools against attempts by the secretary of state to close them
    • Advised a large employer on a large restructure and redundancy process involving both collective and individual consultation
