Maria is a commercial shipping lawyer and partner based in Piraeus office of which she is the deputy head. Maria heads the litigation/dispute resolution team in Piraeus and has 27 years’ experience dealing with marine insurance, sale contracts and transport of commodities, carriage of goods by sea, cargo claims, charterparty and MoA disputes.

Maria is qualified in both Greece and England with extensive litigation experience in both jurisdictions, having handled a considerable number of court cases, arbitrations and mediations in respect of a wide variety of disputes.

Maria is a commercial disputes resolution partner dealing with a variety of disputes and legal proceedings, arbitrations and mediations.

Industry sectors include oil and gas, marine insurance, commodities, carriage of goods, cargo claims, charterparty disputes and sale and purchase disputes. Maria’s client base, expertise and market reputation would support her individual recognition since she is qualified in both Greece and England and handles cases covering all aspects of shipping law such as P&I matters.

Maria obtained her law degree at the University of Athens and received her LLM from the University of Southampton.
