Paul joined the firm in 2009, following our merger with niche commercial City of London practice, Middleton Potts. 

Paul acts for commercial landlords and tenants in relation to all aspects of business tenancies, including advising on the grant of new leases, lease renewals and end-of-term dilapidations. Paul also works for both lenders and borrowers in relation to secured lending requirements and for high-net-worth individuals.

Paul has particular experience in dealing with:

  • overseas companies in relation to their UK head office requirements
  • transport and logistics firms in relation to their operational property requirements
  • travel industry firms in relation to their property requirements
  • financial institutions
  • private purchasers and investors

    • Advising a high street bank in relation to its disposal of its interest in a private UK airport
    • Acting for a major European transport and logistics business on the sale and leaseback of 11 large UK transport and logistics sites
    • Acting for a European oil company on issues relating to the termination of leases of a large 50 year old polymer plant and a linked power station
    • Advising an Asian airline company in relation to the relocation of its UK head office premises
    • Advising a European energy company in relation to its UK property requirements, including the relocation of its UK head office premises
    • Acting for a high-net-worth individual in relation to the acquisition of a residential freehold property in Central London in excess of £20 million
    • Acting for a global multinational company in relation to securing a debt owed to it of circa $100 million - part of the security that was required included the grant of legal charges over three UK properties
    • Acting for high-net-worth individuals in relation to the purchase of an existing residential lease in excess of £4 million and the grant of a new lease (in relation to a newly built residential flat) for a premium in excess of £2.5 million
