Philip Congdon

Phil is an associate in the Manchester Banking team. Whilst he is most experienced in Real Estate Finance, Phil continues to undertake work for our clients across all non-contentious transactional banking matters.

Details

Phil began his legal career in 2017 and has worked continuously in banking and finance in roles as a paralegal, trainee and associate since that time. He joined the firms Banking practice in June 2023 and has continued to work for a broad spectrum of both Lender and Borrower clients. 

Phil’s primary experience is in Real Estate Finance where he has worked on Development and Investment financings for a range of institutional and alternative Lender and Borrower clients on both UK and cross border matters. He also assists the team on acquisition and leveraged finance and any general corporate lending requirements his clients may have. 

Phil has a 2:1 in his Law degree and a Masters in International Trade and Commercial Law from the University of Durham. He also obtained a distinction in his LPC course at BPP University, Manchester.

  • Experience

    • Assisted on the 4 bank lending syndicate comprised of HSBC, Lloyds, NatWest and Santander on the £380 million, Green and SLL investment and development facility to Bruntwood SciTech Limited.
    • Assisted the Chrysalis Fund and LCR Urban Development Fund on a £15.5 million loan to Network Space.
    • Assisted Hilco Capital on a loan to purchase a significant London based distressed asset.
    • Assisted RBS International on £100 million SLL facility to M&G.
    • Assisted HSBC on its  investment and development Loan to FWRE
