Richard McKay

Based in the Liverpool office, Richard is an experienced transactional lawyer and legal director in the corporate team. His expertise includes private corporate finance work, mergers and acquisitions, disposals and reorganisations.

Details

Richard joined the firm in 2010, having previously worked at Halliwells and Berg Legal. He has many years’ experience advising clients including entrepreneurs, owner managed businesses, SMEs and listed public companies.

Richard undertakes a wide variety of corporate work, advising on business and share acquisitions and disposals (with particular emphasis on management buy outs), joint ventures, investments (including acting for both investors and investee companies) and reorganisations. He has significant experience of project managing transactions, including multi-jurisdictional transactions.

Richard graduated from the University of Leeds with a BA (Hons) degree in management studies, following with he successfully completed the CPE and LPC at the College of Law, Chester (now the University of Law). He is also a graduate of the Institute of Personnel and Development pathway.

    • Advising long standing alternative investment market (AIM) listed client, Johnson Service Group, on a number of significant (£50 million +) strategic acquisitions and disposals
    • Advising independent private equity firm Next Wave Partners on its acquisition and subsequent sale of Fox International
    • Advising long standing client CRH on the United Kingdom aspects of acquiring €6.5 billion (£4.9 billion) of assets, including UK-based Tarmac Lafarge
