Sarah is a specialist in dispute resolution and crisis management with a range of experience in complex litigation, arbitration and investigations arising out of regulatory breaches and connected issues, often in disaster or crisis situations.

Sarah is experienced in both UK and international disputes, investigations and crisis management. Her work spans a number of sectors including manufacturing & products, the environment, construction, energy & infrastructure, cyber and financial products (group litigation). 

Sarah is known for her strategic approach when handling disputes. She has experience of structuring group actions and obtaining funding for litigation against, and on behalf of, major institutions, and is adept at dealing with jurisdictional issues in both litigation and arbitration. 

She has been lead Partner and trusted advisor to a range of clients over the years having recently represented both developers and major contractors in TCC disputes, been legal adviser to FTSE 250 companies in relation to cyber incidents, acted on a series of Bermuda Form arbitrations for an international energy company, and as advisor to UK and international businesses in relation to infrastructure and engineering matters namely recent changes in legislation, disasters on site and complex construction litigation including that arising out of the post Grenfell Towers environment in particular advising on the Building Safety Act 2022. 

Before joining Hill Dickinson Sarah was Co-Head of the Commercial Disputes Department at a mid-market London law firm. Prior to this Sarah spent 6 years at a renowned US firm, and her junior lawyer years at a large national firm.

Sarah is listed as a recommended lawyer in the Legal 500 2024 rankings, and earlier in her career was named a top “Next Generation” Lawyer, also by Legal 500.

    • Grey GR Limited Partnership -v- (1) Edgewater (Stevenage) Limited & others in Technology & Construction Court and parallel proceedings in the First Tier Tribunal – one of the first claims issued across the TCC and FTT following the introduction of the Building Safety Act 2022. 
       
    • Confidential Bermuda Form and LCIA arbitrations – acting for various global PLCs
       
    • David Kassler -v- (1) RC Structures and Basements Limited & (2) Elizabeth Barroll trading as Barroll Webber Architects – dispute arising out of the collapse of a listed building. 
       
    • Furnell -v- Flaherty (t/a Godstone Farm) [2013] EWHC 377 (QB) – defending a group action on behalf of Godstone Farm relating to the outbreak of E-coli at a children’s attraction. 
       
    • Halliburton -v- Chubb [2018] EWCA Civ 817 – dispute arising out of the Deepwater Horizon disaster of 2010 in the Gulf of Mexico (the largest oil spill in US history). 
       
    • 199 Knightsbridge -v- WSP [2014] acting for the developer of a prestigious residential development in Knightsbridge in a professional negligence claim. 
       
    • Cornwall Council and the Fire and Rescue Service -v- O&C Holdsworth Plc prosecution brought against client for breaches of the Regulatory Reform Order (Fire Safety) 2005 and related matters.
