Amanda Burge

Amanda is a Partner in the commercial litigation team in London. She acts for national and international companies, partnerships, and high net worth individuals dealing with a wide range of commercial disputes, many of which are highly complex.

Prior to joining the firm in July 2023, Amanda was a Partner and Head of Dispute Resolution at a West End firm, having previously been a Partner at Enyo Law, a litigation boutique. She also chaired the Dispute Resolution Sub Group of a large international network.  

Amanda is recognised by Legal 500 as a Leading Individual in commercial litigation and professional negligence and as a Recommended Lawyer in contentious construction. She is also a Ranked Lawyer in Chambers & Partners for contentious construction.

Amanda has over 25 years’ of expertise dealing with a wide range of contractual disputes including partnership and shareholder disputes, breaches of directors’ duties, civil fraud claims and regulatory issues. She also has expertise in professional negligence, finance, construction and engineering, IT/software licensing and insurance disputes.

Amanda studied at Durham University and Chester College of Law.

    • Acting for a global diversified business assisting with a $150m claim by a large high profile software company relating to licensing issues.
    • Acting for directors and minority shareholders of a multi-million pound IT company in a s.994 unfair prejudice petition.
    • Acting for a large international telecoms company dealing with SMS fraud and relevant contractual and regulatory issues.
    • Acting for a regulator assisting with various issues on their behalf including PI insurance coverage issues, breaches of director’s duties and fraud.
    • Acting on behalf of a subsidiary of a Taiwanese company in respect of a cyber security attack and fraudulent accounts being set up in a UK bank.  
    • Acting for 60 houseboat owners at Chelsea Reach with various disputes with the moorings operator/licensor
    • Acting for a claimant company in a claim against a director for fraudulent misrepresentation, deceit and breaches of directors duties giving rise to losses in excess of £100M.
    • Acting for various UK and overseas clients with claims against legal, financial, accountancy and construction professionals and their insurers.
    • Acting for a top tier contractor who was the main contractor in the construction of a vast wine warehouse. The claim was for defective works/negligent design giving rise to claim in excess of £120M – dealing with all claims against the contractors’ PI, PL and CAR insurers – achieving a successful settlement.
    • Acting for an RTM company and over 100 lessees in relation to a large multi-million pound cladding/fire safety claim against a top tier contractor relating to residential tower block.
