Emma is an expert in healthcare law and regularly advises NHS bodies, private providers and insurers on a range of issues including inquests, public inquiries and queries involving the Mental Health Act 1983/Mental Capacity Act 2005/Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards. She regularly advises organisations on a range of information governance matters.
Emma has been involved in a number of high profile inquests (both with and without a jury) and public inquiries, and was instructed by one of the core participants at the Francis Inquiry. She is a solicitor-advocate and represents clients in the Court of Protection and in relation to judicial review proceedings in the High Court. Emma also represents individuals appearing before the GMC, the Health and Care Professions Council and the British Acupuncture Council, amongst others.
