Double success for Hill Dickinson’s insurance business group at Modern Claims Awards

Details

International law firm Hill Dickinson LLP celebrated double success at the Modern Claims Awards held at New Dock Hall, Leeds last Thursday (28 April). Senior associate, Hayley Riach, won the Rising Star Award and the firm’s legacy team, comprising abuse, social care and disease, was awarded highly commended in their shortlisted category, Legal Team of the Year.

The Modern Claims Awards celebrate cross-industry talent and success, allowing industry professionals to come together in celebration of those individuals and businesses who are embracing opportunities in an ever changing landscape.

Hayley, a senior associate in Hill Dickinson’s retail group, was named Rising Star for her outstanding achievements and remarkable results for clients in demanding market conditions. Hayley is the technical lead for a number of the firm’s largest clients, who have praised her consistently exceptional quality of service and her ability to explain complex legal processes succinctly and efficiently.

Commenting on Hayley’s award win, Ruth Lawrence, head of the firm’s insurance business group said: “Not only is this is a fantastic, well-deserved achievement for Hayley, it is timely recognition as she marks 10 years with the firm.”

The firm’s legacy team was shortlisted for Legal Team of the Year and awarded highly commended. With over 20 years’ experience, the team has acted in a number of the most significant precedent-setting cases in the Court of Appeal, House of Lords and Supreme Court, dealing with the development of the law in relation to fundamental issues such as vicarious liability and limitation.

Disease partner Lisa Fletcher, who collected the award alongside abuse and social care team partner Alastair Gillespie and senior associates Ian Carroll and Sarah Swan, commented: “We’re absolutely delighted to be awarded highly commended in this coveted category. This recognition reflects the hard work and commitment shown by each and every person in the team and underlines our reputation and expertise in these areas.”

These latest award wins mark a hugely successful six months for the firm’s insurance business group. Back in November last year, the abuse and social care team won Defendant Team of the Year and senior associate John McKie was named Young Achiever of the Year at the Eclipse Proclaim Personal Injury Awards.
