Hill Dickinson LLP is pleased to announce that litigation partner Bryan O’Hare will be joining the firm’s Hong Kong commercial disputes practice with effect from 1 September 2015.

Bryan, who will work closely with Hill Dickinson’s Hong Kong disputes partner Damien Laracy, joins from Hogan Lovells in Hong Kong where he was a senior Counsel in the highly regarded top tier business restructuring and insolvency practice. He specialises in complex commercial and financial disputes and multi jurisdiction insolvency litigation including asset tracing, protection and recovery.

Following qualification in Scotland, Bryan joined Reed Smith Richards Butler in Hong Kong. He is a leading commercial litigation lawyer and has acted on many of Hong Kong’s most high profile commercial disputes and insolvencies over the last decade. He acts for financial institutions, insolvency appointment holders, hedge funds and private equity firms.

Hill Dickinson’s managing partner, Peter Jackson, said of Bryan’s appointment: “We are delighted to welcome Bryan to the firm. He brings a wealth of experience to the firm, most notably in insolvency litigation, and his appointment will further strengthen our highly regarded commercial litigation practice in Hong Kong.”

Hong Kong partner, Damien Laracy, added: “With Bryan’s arrival, we will continue to build on our success and growing presence in Hong Kong.”

Bryan commented: “I am thrilled to be joining Damien and his team in Hong Kong. Hill Dickinson has a tremendous reputation in the region for maritime related disputes work and this is a superb opportunity for me to join forces with Damien and build out a broader general commercial disputes and insolvency practice.”

In addition to commercial litigation and international arbitration, Hill Dickinson Hong Kong also specialises in contentious shipping and trade matters. Led by partner and master mariner, Mike Mallin, clients consult the firm in respect of misdelivery claims, ship mortgage enforcement, charterparty disputes, and Admiralty work generally. The firm’s ‘wet’ specialists also assist and advise in relation to marine collisions, groundings, salvage and pollution issues.

Hill Dickinson’s Hong Kong office is ranked in Legal 500 Asia-Pacific legal directory for dispute resolution and shipping.
