Hill Dickinson representing University of Salford in Manchester Arena Inquiry

Details

The independent public inquiry into the Manchester Arena terror attack of 2017 is underway. The inquiry hearings, which began on 7 September 2020, will investigate the deaths of the victims of the 2017 Manchester Arena attack.

Iain Campbell, a partner in the commercial litigation team at law firm Hill Dickinson, is representing the University of Salford.

The inquiry, which is being held at Manchester Magistrates’ Court, will ‘explore the circumstances leading up to and surrounding the terror attack’ and is forecast to last until mid-2021.

The inquiry will hear evidence from a broad array of witnesses in open hearings. It will also hear, in closed sessions, evidence from the security services about what was previously known about the attacker, student Salman Abedi, who set off a bomb as people were leaving an Ariana Grande concert on 22 May 2017, killing 22 and injuring many more.

Hill Dickinson’s thoughts and condolences remain with the families of all those affected.
