Hill Dickinson shortlisted for Litigation Team of the Year at The Lawyer Awards 2016

The commercial litigation team at international law firm Hill Dickinson has been shortlisted for Litigation Team of the Year at The Lawyer Awards 2016.

The commercial litigation team at international law firm Hill Dickinson has been shortlisted for Litigation Team of the Year at The Lawyer Awards 2016.

The awards, run by legal publication The Lawyer, are a key date in the legal industry calendar with over 1,300 legal professionals expected to attend the awards ceremony on Wednesday 29 June at London’s InterContinental O2. 

The commercial litigation team’s submission included their work acting for PC David Rathband in a claim pursuant to the Fatal Accidents Act 1976 against his former employer, the Chief Constable of the Northumbria Constabulary. Partner Peter Southeran and associate Kelly Heath handled the claim, which received a high level of media interest.  

Commenting on the shortlisting, Geraldine Ryan, head of the firm’s Manchester office and commercial litigation practice, said: “The submission was a great cross-team effort which we were able to make because of the fabulous work the team has been undertaking. Special thanks to those directly involved: Moya Clifford, Fiona Parry and her team, Peter Southeran, Kelly Heath, Alex Smith and Sharon Williamson.”

In addition she added: “I am delighted that the commercial litigation team has been shortlisted for the Litigation Team of the Year award. Making the shortlist is a fantastic achievement and reflects the quality of the work that the team has been carrying out over recent years.”

More than 30 firms entered this coveted category and Hill Dickinson is one of seven firms to be shortlisted.
