Hill Dickinson shortlisted for three North West Dealmakers Awards

Details

Hill Dickinson LLP has been shortlisted for three awards at the North West Dealmakers Awards 2015.

The annual awards, hosted by North West Business Insider, recognise and celebrate the successes of the region’s top corporate finance professionals, funders and lawyers over the past 12 months.

Hill Dickinson’s corporate team has been shortlisted for Deal of the Year £10m - £50m for its role advising the management team and exiting private equity investor of Character World on a £36m secondary buy-out backed by Palatine Private Equity.

Character World, based in Cheadle, Manchester, is a licensed bedroom textiles and accessories manufacturer run by brothers Mark and Danny Schweiger. The company works in partnership with some of the world’s most recognisable brands including Disney, Nickelodeon, Lego, Hasbro and Warner Bros and has strong trading relationships with leading retailers in the UK and across Europe.

The deal provided a successful exit for RJD Capital Partners, a private equity provider that backed Mark and Danny when they took over the company from their father, a deal which Hill Dickinson also advised on back in 2008.

The corporate team has also been shortlisted for Deal of the Year up to £10m. The team acted for Watson Moore on its merger with Axon Resourcing back in June. The two financial recruitment firms merged to create a business with a combined turnover of £13.5m with six offices across England.

Hill Dickinson is also up for Law Firm of the Year. Deals which have led to the nomination include; advising Idox plc on its acquisition of Cloud Amber, advising NuPharm on being acquired by Quantum Pharma, advising Cenkos and Investec on a £23m firm placing and open offer for Flowgroup plc and advising Secured Mail on combining with CMS Network to create The Delivery Group.

Winners will be announced at an awards dinner on 8 October 2015 at Manchester Central, with over 900 members of the region’s business community expected to attend.
