Will is a legal director in the employment team. His background in HR enables him to provide practical advice to clients on all employment related matters.

Details

Will joined the firm in January 2016. Prior to completing his training contract in-house with an FMCG company, he spent a number of years working in HR, gaining an in-depth understanding of employment law in a practical context. He is able to provide sound commercial advice on all aspects of employment law.

Will’s specialisms include advising employers on internal disciplinary and grievance procedures, redundancy consultations, negotiating settlement agreements and employment contracts. He is also experienced in defending claims including discrimination and unfair dismissal in the Employment Tribunal, as well as advising employees on their employment rights.

Will attained a 2:1 in law at Southampton University, before achieving a distinction in his LPC at the College of Law in Guildford.

    • Successfully defending complex employment tribunal claims including all forms of discrimination, whistleblowing, unfair dismissal and detrimental treatment on the grounds of trade union activities
    • Successfully making multiple applications for UK employment tribunal proceedings to be struck out for lack of territorial jurisdiction on behalf of various multinational clients
    • Advising employer clients on complex redundancy and TUPE projects
    • Negotiating settlement terms on behalf of both employers and senior executives
    • Preparing seafarer employment agreements and advising on the application of the Maritime Labour Convention
    • Advising Genflow Biosciences plc (LON: GENF), the first pure-play longevity biotechnology firm to list in Europe, on a £3.7 million oversubscribed placing and the company’s admission to the standard segment of the main market of the London Stock Exchange
