We’re proud to have advised private equity firm Nimbus which has entered into an agreement to acquire E.B. Bradshaw and Sons, a Yorkshire flour milling business that can trace its history back more than 230 years.

The Bradshaw family have been involved in milling flour for six generations, with the business supplying more than four per cent of the UK's flour demand, including a broad range of baker's, biscuit and specialty flours to industrial, wholesale and artisan customers.

The transaction is set to support the long-term future of the business and provide a platform for continued investment in operations, customer relationships and future growth opportunities.

Nimbus is a European investment company with offices in the Netherlands, Germany and Yorkshire in the UK. The firm specialises in supporting industrial and manufacturing businesses through operational investment and strategic development. It also has prior experience within the sector through its previous ownership of Meneba, the largest flour mill in the Netherlands.

As part of the transaction, Bradshaws will continue to operate independently under its existing brand and management structure. Nimbus will support the business alongside experienced flour milling executives from the former Meneba leadership team, bringing further sector expertise and operational knowledge.

Our Corporate team, led by Partner Sandip Khroud, Legal Director Tamanna Keir and Associate Hahmiz Butt provided lead legal advice to Nimbus. Additional support was provided by our Banking (Alasdair Mackinnon and Emma Johnston) and Real Estate (Bethany Clegg) teams.

Daniel Thomas and Alex Nicholls from Nimbus in the UK led the investment.

This transaction highlights the value of bringing together a truly multi-disciplinary team, with colleagues across Corporate, Banking and Real Estate working seamlessly to deliver a coordinated, commercial solution for our client. Nimbus has a clear strategy for supporting industrial and manufacturing businesses, and Bradshaws represents a compelling platform for long-term growth. We look forward to seeing the business continue to develop in the years ahead.
