Details

Prior to joining the firm Binoy worked with a leading English Law Firm and American Law Firm. He has worked as a senior claim handler & risk manager in an IG group P&I Club. His work experience includes audit, training, operations with a leading ship management company, and 13 years of sailing experience including 2 years of command experience on ice class vessels.

He regularly advises clients on a broad range of shipping matters including casualties (collision/grounding / fire), salvage, unsafe port claims (including ice damage disputes), bunker dispute, GA claim disputes, cargo claims, charterparty and bills of lading disputes, LOI related disputes, ship management disputes and procedural compliance for local and international regulations. He reviews ship owners & managers’ internal investigation report, and Flag State reports from a legal perspective.  

Binoy is a graduate of the nautical science of the Mumbai University. He is a graduate of the law faculty of the University of London, with a master’s degree in maritime law from the University of Southampton. He is a member of the Maritime Law Association of Singapore and is in the SCMA SEADOCC panel of expert nautical assessors.
