Charlotte joined the firm in October 2022 and works in the London Healthcare and Public Law Team. Charlotte advises NHS bodies, private providers, and insurers on a variety of contentious and non-contentious matters including; Court of Protection medical treatment and welfare matters, commissioning disputes, inquests, and regulatory work.

Details

Prior to joining Hill Dickinson LLP, Charlotte trained as a barrister and was Called to the Bar of England and Wales in March 2022. Charlotte has gained significant Healthcare Law experience and has assisted colleagues with providing advice on a wide range of issues, including; mental capacity and mental health law, responsible commissioner disputes, continuing healthcare eligibility disputes, judicial review, inquests, and regulatory work (GMC, GDC and CQC).

Charlotte regularly assists colleagues with hearing preparations and has attended the Court of Protection and High Court (at the Royal Courts of Justice) on numerous occasions both with solicitor-advocate colleagues conducting their own advocacy and where external Counsel have been instructed. Charlotte assists colleagues with collating hearing bundles, drafting key documentation and reviewing medical and witness evidence.

Charlotte has participated in providing mock inquest training to clients with other members of the team. Additionally, Charlotte has worked on an extensive patient recall exercise for a large private hospital.

Charlotte obtained her undergraduate Bachelor or Laws degree from the University of East Anglia and subsequently completed the Bar Practice Course at the University of Law, London. Charlotte has also completed a Master of Laws degree in Bar Practice where she specialised in mental health law.
