Janet joined the firm in October 2014 to head up the London Health Litigation team. Previously, Janet was a partner in health litigation at BLM and has over 20 years’ experience in the field of Clinical Negligence.

Janet specialises in all areas of health litigation, including claims made against NHS trusts, health organisations, individual GPs, surgeons, nurses and other healthcare professionals. She has extensive experience in representing GPs and surgeons in high value catastrophic injury claims including birth, brain and spinal injuries. Janet’s main clients are NHS Resolution and Medical Protection.

With a first class BA honours degree in medieval and modern history from the University of London and an MPhil in medieval history from Cambridge University (Newnham College), Janet was called to the bar in 1997 and qualified as a solicitor in 1999.

    • Janet is currently representing a defendant doctor in a multi million pound wrongful birth claim involving a missed opportunity to identify the presence of a cystic fibrosis gene during fertility treatment. She is also defending a general practitioner in a +£15 million claim concerning an alleged failure to carry out TB testing leading to a catastrophic brain injury.
