Details

Prior to joining the firm, Liam trained at a leading international law firm specialising in shipping, trade, energy and insurance. Liam’s practice focuses on shipping, international arbitration and commercial litigation.

Liam assists in advising and representing parties in all types of cases relating to shipping, international trade and commodities, including both Hong Kong Court proceedings and LMAA, SIAC, HKIAC and LCIA arbitrations, as well as ad hoc arbitrations in Hong Kong, Singapore and London. He has experience in charterparty and bill of lading disputes, claims under guarantees, as well as wet shipping matters, including salvage, dangerous cargo, stevedore and vessel damage cases.

Liam also has experience in insolvency, restructuring and commercial dispute matters in Hong Kong Court proceedings and HKIAC arbitrations and non-contentious advisory matters.

Liam completed his JD and PCLL at the Chinese University of Hong Kong.  

He was admitted as a solicitor of the High Court of the HKSAR in 2023.

  • Experience

    1. Acting for the financer and shipowners as Plaintiffs in a LMAA arbitration involving claims under guarantees of over US$30 million in respect of breach of JOLCO financing agreement and bareboat charterparty.
    2. Acting for shipowner as Plaintiff in a LMAA arbitration involving a claim of over US$3 million in respect of stevedore and vessel damage by dangerous cargo.
