Sofia Karlou

Prior to joining the firm in 2023, Sofia worked two years (2021-2023) as an Associate of Major&Grove International Law Firm and as an in-house Legal Counsel of a prominent ship-management company. She has also served as Trainee Attorney-at-Law at Potamitis-Vekris Law Firm (2019-2021) and previously at Gatsos-Tsoumanis & Associates Law Firm (2018-2019).

Sofia works on a variety of shipping matters with a focus on shipping finance projects and transactions, vessel sale and purchase agreements, SEC compliance matters, registration and re-flagging of the vessels as well as shipping-related corporate and commercial matters, including, inter alia, corporate governance projects, share transfer agreements, shareholders’ agreements, incorporation of shipping companies, establishment of ship-management companies in Greece, corporate resolutions.

Sofia is a graduate of the law faculty of the National Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece. In the meantime, Sofia is also in the process of studying in the World Maritime University to obtain her LL.M. in International Maritime Law.
