Sumaiyya Parkar is an associate in the Healthcare Public Law team, primarily working and advising on matters in the Court of Protection

Sumaiyya qualified as a solicitor in 2019 and worked in local government before joining Hill Dickinson as an Associate in July 2023. 

Sumaiyya works with NHS Integrated Care Boards (ICBs), NHS Trusts and other organisations in relation to healthcare matters. This includes advising on mental capacity law, deprivation of liberty safeguards, best interests, medical treatment disputes, Court of Protection proceedings and applications to the High Court under its inherent jurisdiction and/or Children Act 1989. 

Sumaiyya completed her law degree at Nottingham Trent University where she graduated with a 2:1 before completing her LPC at the University of Law, Bloomsbury.
