Supervising solicitors

Content

English courts have the power to make orders (Search and Seizure Orders) allowing a claimant’s lawyers search the businesses and residential premises of defendants and seize relevant evidence of any wrongdoing, to preserve and protect evidence in advance of a trial. Given the draconian nature of a Search and Seizure Order, the courts require the appointment of an independent Supervising Solicitor to ensure the Search and Seizure Order is executed correctly and to report to the Court on the execution of the Order.

With considerable experience of acting as Supervising Solicitors, we are able to provide you with the support you need in executing any Search and Seizure order.

How our dispute lawyers can help you

With a thorough understanding of the issues of privilege and protection against self-incrimination, the supervising solicitors’ team can assist with the execution of search and seizure orders at both domestic and business premises.

Having UK offices in Liverpool, Leeds, Manchester and London, the team is well placed to cover multi-search sites across the UK.

We aim to provide clarity and certainty with regard to our fees and will act on a fixed-fee basis.

Female members of the team are also available to execute at premises as required by any court order.

  • FAQs

We would like to appoint you as supervising solicitor, what is the next step?

We would obviously need to clear a conflict check and are happy to carry out a confidential conflict check now if we can be provided with the names of the parties. It would also be helpful to know the date the search order is anticipated to be executed on.

How much will you charge to act as supervising solicitor?

We are happy to provide a detailed fee proposal. To do so we would need to understand the number and type of sites involved and the anticipated length of the search.

Do you have experience of assisting in a search of domestic premises?

Yes. We have female members of the team also available to execute at premises as required by any court order if females/children are involved.
