London is open: negotiating the path to a successful listing on the UK stock markets for medical cannabis and CBD companies

Details

As the UK trading markets open up for medical cannabis companies, a Hill Dickinson co-sponsored webinar guides potential investors through the opportunities and potential pitfalls.

On 9 March 2021, following hot on the heels of the first medical cannabis company to be publicly listed on the London Stock Exchange, Hill Dickinson partnered with business management consultancy Prohibition Partners in a round table discussion for potential investors in the cannabis industry.

The event, ‘London is Open’, was delivered via webinar to an invited audience of 100 potential investors, to provide medicinal cannabis and CBD companies with essential information on negotiating the path to a successful listing on the UK stock markets.

Many more listed via live stream.

As with all well-attended events, the timing was apposite. First, because the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) had, in September 2020, finally issued long-awaited guidance on listing medical cannabis companies in the UK and, second, because, as a law team with specific expertise in UK and international cannabis markets, we know that the appetite to invest in this market is huge.

The webinar, moderated by Stephen Murphy of Prohibition Partners, discuss(es) the future of the cannabis industry  and is now available to view on YouTube. It features a discussion panel comprising Hill Dickinson senior associate Jack Delaney, Eran Zucker of investment bank Peterhouse Capital, a co-sponsor of the event, and Alasdair Haynes of the Aquis Exchange.
