Integration and the Health and Care Act

Details

With the upcoming implementation of the Health & Care Act later this year, we’ve put together two video resources to give an overview of the key provisions and implications and focus on the background of the reforms placing the Integrated Care System on a statutory footing with the enactment of the Health & Care Act.

Part 1 - Key provisions and implications

The Health and Care Act, together with expected regulations and guidance, makes structural changes to the health and care system that are intended to make integration easier.

Our video resource here highlights key provisions and implications at a high level, circulating around what is happening and what does it mean. This includes:

  • Identifying the key provisions
  • The impact of the reforms of national bodies
  • How local arrangements will be affected

Part 2 - The ICS

This video resource explains the background to reforms placing the Integrated Care System (ICS) on a statutory footing with the enactment of the Health and Care Act.

Here, we consider the constituent parts of the ICS:

  • The Integrated Care Board
  • Place-based partnerships
  • The Integrated Care Partnership
  • Provider Collaboratives

The Health and Care Act is the flagship legislation making structural changes to the health and care system. Further pieces of the integration jigsaw include guidance regarding the operation of different parts of the ICS.
