Hill Dickinson’s Private Equity team advises software firm Voicescape on BGF investment

Commercial law firm Hill Dickinson has advised Voicescape, a provider of communications software for social housing providers and local authorities, on a multi-million investment from BGF.

The deal was handled by the firm’s Private Equity team, led by corporate partner David Mkhitarian and senior associate James Redshaw with support from Stephen Betts (Tax), Laura Malloy (Employment) and Paula Mas Alvarez (Corporate).

Commenting on the deal, David Mkhitarian said:

“Voicescape is a respected and widely used supplier to the UK’s social housing market, working with over 50 local authorities and social housing providers across the country. An investment of this size gives the business the ability to further develop its product offering and support its clients in digitising their services. We are delighted to have supported our client in getting this deal successfully over the line.”

Voicescape founder John Doyle added:

“The social housing and local authority sectors have displayed a remarkable appetite for digital transformation over the last few years, which was only accelerated by the pandemic. The constantly changing needs and circumstances of residents have been highlighted, making it crucial for organisations to use technology effectively.”

Founded in 1998, Manchester headquartered Voicescape combines automation technology, behavioural insights and data science to create communication services that help public service organisations drive substantial operational efficiencies and service improvements.

The investment by BGF will be used to invest in the expansion of Voicescape’s product suite and in the development and growth of its AI-driven Caseload Manager tool, which it developed in partnership with social housing provider, Thirteen Group.
