Hill Dickinson ranked in 23 practice areas in Chambers UK 2023 directory

Commercial law firm Hill Dickinson has been ranked in 23 practice areas in Chambers and Partners UK 2024 legal directory, published today, Thursday 19 October.

It includes for the first time the addition of Administrative and Public Law: Mainly Public Sector and Charities (UK Wide) as a newly ranked practice area, up one from last year’s total of 22.

The rankings span all three of the firm’s core business group – Business Services, Marine and Health and demonstrate the breadth and consistently high quality of advice available to clients of the firm across a wide range of legal services.

Highest ranked practice areas
Of the 23 practice areas ranked, six practice areas retain their Band 1 ranking, the highest possible recognition. They are:
•    Corporate/M&A (North West)
•    Family/Matrimonial (Liverpool and Surrounds)
•    Court of Protection: Health and Welfare (UK-wide)
•    Healthcare: Mental Health: Providers (UK wide)
•    Healthcare (UK wide)
•    Transport: Logistics (UK wide)

Highly ranked individuals
A total of 57 of the firm’s lawyers are recognised as Notable Practitioners – an increase of seven on the previous year - and, of these, seven individuals achieve the highest, Band 1, ranking across eight practice areas.

They are: Kiran Bhogal (Band 1 ranked in two separate areas of Health Advisory law); Kevin Lee (Real Estate); Adrian Marsh (Cargo and Logistics); Joanne Raisbeck (Family); Sharon Thomas (Health Advisory); James Lonsdale (Commercial TMT and IP) and Ben Troke (Health Advisory).

Senior Statespersons are Jeff Isaacs and Sue Russell

Jonathan Brown, Hill Dickinson chair and corporate partner, maintains his status as an Eminent Practitioner, a ranking that recognises highly influential lawyers who, due to managerial or client relationship commitments, are less active in fee-earning work but remain key players at the firm.

Lawyers who are ranked as Up-and-Coming and Star Associate are considered to be at the forefront of their generation and this year are named as:

Up and Coming: Richard Allingham, Andrea Proudlock, Kate Steele, Nina Ferris

Star Associates: Tom Turner, Ellie Webster, Joe Orme-Paul and Stephen Barnfield.

Rankings are based on a combination of work highlights across 2022/2023, extensive peer-led interviews and client feedback, and in-depth research carried out over several months.
